A state of emergency has been declared in Ethiopia shortly before this episode was published, so our thoughts and prayers are with the warm, wonderful people of this beautiful country.
Indeed, much of Ethiopia is nothing like the images burned into our psyche, dating from as far back as the tragic and devastating drought of the ’80s. The delicious and complex cuisine (which we couldn’t get enough of), distinctive music, spectacular scenery and colorful tradition of Christian Orthodoxy found there are all unique and like none other.
